Dear Hip Chicks...

I have taken a break from Hip Chick Zine. Since I last posted in this blog, I have changed jobs, and moved from the mountains of Vermont to the Hudson Valley, New York. I said goodbye to the old, static version of HipChickZine.net, and decided that it was time for a change. So, you're here on the blog, which will soon be HipChickZine.com (the site's original home when I first started it at age 17). I will be posting more regularly, and the focus will still be on books, style, beauty, food and travel. I've also decided to add interior design and entertaining information, as that's an interest I'm just discovering, thanks to Rue Magazine, Cupcakes and Cashmere, ELLE Decor, and Design*Sponge, among other sites and publications. There will still be the reviews, critiques of pop culture, and interviews with amazing women you've come to expect from Hip Chick Zine. Thank you for visiting the new home of Hip Chick Zine, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hip Chick Zine is Back from "Vacation"

Alright, so it was a working vacation, but we're back to the real world after not having internet access for over a month and a half. I was working at a music school for the summer, and it was fantastic. Look for more updates starting this coming week, including lots more book reviews, the latest news in health and fashion, travel notes and way more from HCZ!

HipChickZine.net is now Advertising in BUST!

BUST magazine, which recently received Folio's award, "2009 Grand FAME Winner/Best Special Event Gold Winner," is a celebrated and stellar magazine that is truly different from others. HCZ Welcomes the New Food Editor!

Hip Chick Zine would like to welcome the new HCZ Food Editor, Kate David-Hays. Kate says, "Hi, I'm 26 years old, and have a degree in Culinary Arts from New England Culinary Institute and a Restaurant Management degree from Johnson & Wales. I own my own catering company called 'Amuse Bouche Catering' and I am currently writing a cookbook featuring all my original fusion recipes, along with my own illustrations. When cooking, I focus on using everyday ingredients and using them in an unexpected way. I cook with a lot of flowers and make my own spices and cures." We're excited to have Kate on board, and be sure to look for her new column on the website soon!
